At Belgard, strengthening our culture of inclusivity, diversity, equality, and equity is not just a box-ticking exercise, rather it is one of the core development areas of our Environment, Social & Governance team.
Our recently updated Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Policy has outlined the areas that we are currently working on, these include, training and development, recruitment and promotion, asking and reporting and celebrating. Our policy also outlines our representative areas of focus, these are family, gender, LGBTQ+, culture and disability.
Some of our people policies that contribute towards greater inclusivity in these areas are, paid maternity, parents, paternity, and adoptive leave, Fertility Support Policy, Menopause Support Policy and Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy. We track our progress in these areas using diversity pulse surveys.
At the core of Belgard’s Equality, Inclusion and Diversity policy is an encouragement for all colleagues to intentionally increase our levels of self-awareness and continuously strive towards more purposeful, respectful interactions with clients and team members alike.
Like many organisations, our approach to equality, inclusion and diversity is a commitment to continuous improvement and it is a journey that we have committed to invest in. It is a journey in which we welcome the input and contribution of all our colleagues as we continue to build this workplace of the future.
